How many Barack Obama hubs do there have to be?

60

By t.keeley

Honest to God, I'm sick of them, entriely SICK of them,

Ok, so everytime I hop on hubpages I'm flogged with these stupid Obama hubs.

"Change America Doesn't Need"

:Can Obama really change America?"

...and on...and on...and on.

Every day brings the same exact breed of blogs. In fact, I'd even go as far as to say each has pretty much the exact same motif, the same drivel, the same slime that is oozing from the bowels of annoyance. And, folks, I'm tired of them. I don't even click on them out of curiosity any more, I merely laugh them off and never expect any one of them to get any sort of traffic.

Why, do you ask?

Because the lack of creativity breeds boredom, and that's what I'm getting from every single one of them. It has been said once, then a hundred times, then a million. If I got a nickel for everytime someone spewed the same crap that Joe Shmoe did 2 hours ago, I'd be a millionaire in a week.

Stop it, please, it's getting irritating. I want to shoot myself with my air soft gun each time one pops up. Trust me, there are days when I'm sure you're pissed that the guy you didn't vote for is your president, but now you know how all of us people who hated Bush since 2000 feel. Seriously, get over it. He's your president now, and while Bush received undue harsh criticism in every step, try to rise above that and grant this guy a little time to screw things up before you "prophesy" that he's going to issue in a new level of communism to our country. In fact, if you truly believe that, you're an idiot.

Besides that, Obama has done nothing but be sworn in.

Are you:

- that afraid of any level of change at all?

- afraid you might have your money redistributed?

- afraid of a falsly-accused 'muslim' of being in office?

- or are you just a racist?

For crying out loud, I'm about ready to ask the mods of hubpages to not allow a single hub pertaining to the subject of "change" at all. I about pulled my eyes out of their sockets when I saw no less than four of these hubs put out in the last hour. It's unoriginal, uninventive, stupid, mornic, trashy, boring, etc., etc.

I didn't vote for him. I didn't vote for McCain either. I did vote. I'm happier Obama got te ticket than McCain, but I don't sit around here essentially transcribing the same exact crap from one hub to mine, day after day after day after day.

He's your president, like it or not. Stop trying to analyse the areas he's going to mess up before he even tries. No one wants to read that stuff...no one. Frankly I think the whole thing should be stopped entirely. I might start a petition to do so too, because the loads of bull that people are "writing" on here is merely a copy of the last dude who did the same exact waste of time.

Stop...writing...these...hubs. Hubs about Obama being the antichrist, him being the devil incrante, him being the new Karl Marx, etc. It's over, here and now. Those who agree with me, sign below. If this hub happens to be a copy, I'm sorry, I must have committed the same treason I'm accusing others of! LOL.

ha ha nice job. I'm definitely Probama. I think what you've been reading is the frustration of a nation.

No doubt, Joe, but my problem is the filth that is repeated over, and over, and over....like many of my sentences in here, to make a point. I think we ought to appoint one voice to complain and everyone else just send requests for bitching to them!

My honest opinion is if I do not like a topic I just do not read about it. Sometimes I think there are way too many hubs about how to make money online, which has been said over and over again, but I just do not read those. Best way to avoid frustration.

t.keeley profile image

t.keeley Hub Author 3 years ago

True that. I think that's what I will start doing, but it aggravates me because there are millions of other topics to write on and no one does it. I write album reviews most people have never heard of, that's an example. Expand your mind and abilities, make something new.

You said it "If this hub happens to be a copy, I'm sorry, I must have committed the same treason I'm accusing others of"..hehe.

But seriously it reminds me once of when we were standing in the line to buy movie tickets and in exasperation I said why do so many people have to watch this movie today only. Then my mom said even others must be thinking like that about us. Anyway it is ok to be pissed off and at least we have hub pages to vent out our feelings.

But seriously it is a personal choice as I don't read those hubs which I don't want to visit and some people who want to visit it then let them do so. Also remember that politics and religion mostly invokes more responses than non controversial topics. Please continue enjoying to write about what you really feel passionate about and if others share your passion great if not at least you enjoyed writing it(didn't you!!)

Thanks for stopping by, CW. I guess we all are on the same spectrum here, when the day is done. I'm sure I'll see more irritating articles in time, but hopefully not. If there are more, I expect them to be very well written or it's just more spam.

"Bush received undue criticism in every step." Did we live the same last 8 years? Criticism, yes. Undue? Hardly.

Anyway, I agree with you can we're saturated with Obama-ness. Let's give the man a chance to do something other than get sworn in TWICE and get through a grueling day/night of inaugural activies and first week in office meetings and phone calls to foreign leaders. It's a bit premature to be proclaiming his "change" is impossible. And I think we've beaten the antichrist and muslim bits to death.

t.keeley Hub Author 3 years ago

Finally you are here, MM. Thought I'd se you on this topic :)

I do feel bad for W in someways and sure, he's screwed up a lot. But some of that I do feel was not due to him alone, in fact somethings weren't his fault, period, but either way I do think OB deserves a clean slate here.

Yes, those bits have been beaten to death and I'm sick of them, which is why I called it to stop. If they're listening, that is...

t.keeley,

Well you may be the only person who writes about particular bands, which I give you credit for, but it is a little bit of an exageration to say you are the only person who writes about obscure or never done topics.  I have written about the Bounty and South Pacific history, but I see very few people writing about that.  I even do detailed hubs about crafts and take my own pictures when a few people have written hubs about crafts and simply linked back to others work.  C.S. Alexis is a tremendously talented lady who write about prygography on a level that I have never seen people write about online, and she even includes her own crafts. Every person that has commented on your hub, countrywomen, Mighty Mom, and many others all have written very unique hubs on topics I have not seen covered before. I admit you are a talented and erudite person, but to not see the wide range of topics that are on hubpages is a little maybe, just a little bit of a exageration.

t.keeley profile image

t.keeley Hub Author 3 years ago

I wasn't saying that at all, you misunderstood.I merely stated it as an example, that's all, and I know I hardly scratch the surfece on obscure topics, others do much better than I do. I am still the only one with a bodhran hub though ;)

SweetiePie profile image

SweetiePie Level 6 Commenter 3 years ago

See that is something to be hapy about. I think you should write another hub promoting all of the band reviews you have done, sort of like a table of contents.

t.keeley profile image

t.keeley Hub Author 3 years ago

That's a great idea. I sort of did that by categorising each of the reviews in a single category so they're like an album of reviews, but I think maybe I'll go ahead and do that too.

Be patient, the Obama obsession will slow down in time. I wish our President a lot of luck as I can see that many expect him to fix everything. Hey, maybe I should write a hub about Obama and my perspective. Juuuust kidding. hehe.

Have you reviewed Red House Painters yet?

t.keeley profile image

t.keeley Hub Author 3 years ago

No, but mark it on my to-do list. I'll be sure to check them out and see if I like them enough to review them. I only write pisitive reviews, so if I'm not entranced I'll probably not do it, but if it's referred by you it must be something worth checking out!

I only saw them once, in London. It was atmospheric rather than dynamic, like a slow-changing 'wall of sound'.

SoDakDoogie 3 years ago

I agree t.keeley...in fact I made a promise never to write anything with the words Obama and Change in them...uh, um, well, I guess I broke that promise a few weeks ago. :)

You're right, people are pretty obsessed with this whole change rhetoric, but to be fair, there is quite a bit of obsession on both sides of the aisle on this man. I have debated several hubs in the last few days about him but have decided to hold off until I really get a feel for what he is going to do. Some of what I've seen I'm ok with, other things I'm a little disturbed by where he appears to be heading. So we'll have to wait and see a little bit.

Good hub, I sympathize with your frustration!

t.keeley,

I wrote a Obama hub about a month ago. I loved it, it was a lot of fun to write. Almost as fun as the ones I wrote on Bush. Oh well, you can't satisfy everyone :) I hereby promise I won't write another word on Obama... unless he does something that really makes me laugh, because at the end of the day, all politicians, whatever stripe, are great fodder for a joke. Don't worry, I won't be offended if you don't drop by:)

Goldentoad -- those are the breed I'm talking about

sschilke -- one hub is ok if it's unique. I'm basically ranting against the countless hubs with the same exact 2 paragraphs of poorly written gibberish. I don't care if you only want to write something as short as a poem...save it for a prsonal blog no one reads! :D

Maybe there are so many Obama hubs and repeat hubs because people are outraged at the new policies...taxpayer money going to partial birth abortion, abortion overseas Which was an exec.order overturned quietly immedialtly following his swearing in ..done quietly so as not to rock the boat for conservatives LIKE ME!;)..terrorists being released whose only intent is to make 911 look like an appetizer for the main course...or maybe the fact that there is scandal circling everywhere in this election..He is like Teflon Don...Or maybe you are too young to know who that is ..look him up!.But I guess if you have no morals these things don't bother you!-BTW...did you know ..Obamas aunt is an illegal immigrant and fugitve who was at the inuagaration? Her name is Onvango..These things are what are teeing people off not his race or his political affiliation...BUT his policies. These are CHANGES WE CAN DO WITHOUT! God Bless and have a great day

In your hub "3 Reasons I Want McCain to win this Year," you said you were wishing McCain would win, (yes, I know you didn't vote for either candidate) but in this hub you said you were happy that Obama won. What changed your mind?

t.keeley profile image

t.keeley Hub Author 3 years ago

The McCain hub was satirical, heavily so actually. You're not the first to not have picked up on it, but the loads of comments like yours were countered by my responses of satire. Did I want McCain to win? No, the three reasons I gave, especially the hot VP one, were a joke. I haven't changed my mind really, I was a pretty big supporter of Obama even past the election, and still hail him as our new president.

If McCain won, the only appeal to me would be that we'd get four more disillusioned years under the GOP, hopefully waking us up to the inability of the party as a whole.

ColdWarBaby 3 years ago

If the Obama hubs bother you that much, ignore them! I really hadn't noticed myself but then I'm not here that often.

Anyway, that's not what really got my attention in this hub. George W. Bush is a maggot that was living gleefully in the festering wounds that the radical right, with a little help from the enablers on the "left", have inflicted on the world. While it's true that he was not the sole or even primary architect of this destruction, he loved every minute of it. He is a racist, a war criminal and a venal little sock puppet and deserves no sympathy whatsoever.

Other than that, interesting rant.

t.keeley profile image

t.keeley Hub Author 3 years ago

I think what irritates me even more than W.'s legacy that has spurned the obvious overthrow of the GOP and uprising of the Democratic party is that Obama isn't much different than Bush. Bailouts, more soldiers in the middle east, oddball calls on things like Gitmo and taxes....I mean, we did vote for this guy because he not only offered change, but it was supposed to actually BE change, right?

Other than Guantanamo I don't see a legacy that separates itself at all from Bush or Clinton. There's the same war strategy, the same tax strategy, the same crummy "let's bail the richies out" strategy...yeah, you get my drift. Everything Bush seemed to advocate we were so against has been upped by a guy who speaks charismatically.

ColdWarBaby 3 years ago

It doesn't look good so far. We'll see.
